7QT Third Friday of Easter in Pictures

1.
Lunch with Bison

2.
Lucy's first Freshman/Sophomore Spring Dance

3.
Three is a magic number.

4.
One highly alcoholic tiramisu, courtesy of Susan, and no, I'm not complaining.

More May Birthdays!
5.  I had a birthday on Wednesday, which was just lovely, but no one took my picture. Tho thad.

Something Other Than God: How I Passionately Sought Happiness and Accidentally Found It, on my weekly What We're Reading Wednesday Link-up.  Feel free to hop on that bookmobile any Wednesday with your own post.

Then, I did some market research which paid me a cool $100 bill, followed by a second breakfast with some BFFs, and an epic nap.  We had dinner at my mother-in-law's house, prime rib FTW, followed by a fabulous dessert of Pineapple Best Cake brought all the way from St. Louis by my own mother a month ago and thoughtfully frozen until the time was right.  I will try to research the recipe and whereabouts of Pineapple Best Cake for your indulging pleasure.

The whole day was simply lovely.

6.
Susan's first Junior/Senior Prom!

And Peter's second Junior/Senior Prom.
Dress by Dress Barn, hair and make-up by Susan

7.  Lastly, this is the funniest thing I read all week.  What follows is an actual text exchange from Patrick (in blue) and an employee.  I cried.  It was that funny.

Go see Jen or Jennifer, if you prefer, (she has no preference) for more erudite but probably not as attractive quick takes.

  3. A) Your family is gorgeous. Ridiculously gorgeous. 'Specially those young ladies of yours. And how lucky are you that Susan can do hair and make-up?

    B) Jill and my Zeke are only a few days apart! Is she already spoken for? Did one of those Donaldson boys steal her yet?

    C) That text would crush me. Today I alllllmost sent an email to the Catholic Exchange editor where my autocorrect changed "sorry" to "sorrynotsorry." Yikes.

  4. Happy belated birthday! My birthday May 7th, too, and my husband's is May 6th. It's fun to celebrate together, but since his is first, I have to set the bar for gift-giving, which I dislike.
Also, your girls' dresses are lovely! I kind of want that blue one for myself...

  6. The prom-goers look so good!!! And so did lil C last week. She was wondering what "dressed to the nines" meant last night so I explained and used it in a sentence: "K and M were dressed to the nines tonight to go to prom".

  7. Your kids are absolutely gorgeous and handsome for your son! Wasn't Jen's book awesome, I couldn.not.put.it.down.

  8. Your kids are beautiful! And how is it that when I sign up for these market research sites, I never qualify?? It's maddening!!!!

  11. Love the texts! So funny.

I can't blame this one on auto-correct (although it has come up with some doozies). But recently my son who is a junior in college asked me to scan a copy of his shot record for the Army ROTC, and I texted him with, "I just sent your sh-t record." I'd typed an 'i' where I should have typed an 'o'--and before I had time to send a new text to tell him to disregard that one, he'd texted back, "Ha ha. Mommy said a bad word."

    1. Oh, and your kids look awesome. Your daughter is so beautiful--and I find it refreshing that she does her own hair and make-up. I've heart that the process of getting gussied-up for the prom has become quite elaborate!
